2023: NNPP guber candidate, Fayoyin meets Ogun student's leaders

...promises special attention to sport, education, security


As consultation for the Ogun 2023 guber election begins, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party in the state, Ezekiel Fayoyin on Friday played host to student's leaders across the state. 

Fayoyin, who is the youngest guber candidate in the country solicited for the student's leaders support and endorsement in ensuring the victory of NNPP in 2023. 

The guber candidate appreciated all the 21 student's bodies represented, pledging that his government would be people oriented, in line with the rule of law.

The NNPP candidate also noted that he consulted the student's populace first because of the role of youths in the development of the country. 

He urged the student constituency to mobilize their members in various communities so as to get involved in the political process by getting their PVC for the 2023 general election, and vote for all the NNPP candidates in their localities.

Fayoyin however promised that his government will prioritize sports development, education, security, youth empowerment, and agriculture, among others. 

In his welcome address, the National President, National Association of Ogun state Student, Comrade Ogunronbi Gbemileke, said Hon Fayoyin has taken the wisest path and decision to consult the student constituency first among all the Guber Candidates in the state. 

Gbemileke said Fayoyin's candidacy will change the narrative that youth are not good for leadership positions.

In his contribution, Comrade Olanbiwoninu Stanley, Coalition of Ogun Ex-Student Leaders, also appreciated the NNPP Guber Candidate for his genuineness and his promise to have inclusive leadership from the student constituency which was the purpose of the consultation. 

He said, "I believe you see the student population as important and necessary for your victory that is why you called for this meeting, and the reason we honored it. 

"We shall report back to our members and deliberate on ways we can assist you to bring this dream to pass. 

"However, we shall appreciate you to thread on the path of honor by giving attention to education and youth development in your government for a better society." 

Also at the meeting were the Chairman, National Association of Ogun State Students NANS OGUN JCC; the President, Students Union Government Federal Polytechnic Ilaro , Comr Joshua; the President, Progressive Students Movement PSM NIG, among several other representatives of student bodies and unions in Ogun State.
