EPL: He’s not an Instagram footballer – Cole tells Man Utd player to fix midfield issues

Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole, has told Manchester United the player to solve their midfield issues.

Recall that Man United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick had identified Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips, Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara as the midfielders that could fix the Red Devils’ midfield issues.

But the January window passed by at Old Trafford without any new arrivals.

And Cole thinks Man United should instead go for Aston Villa’s John McGinn, adding that he is perfect for the Premier League giants and he’s not an Instagram footballer.

“You look at that club and you constantly hear noises about this player is unhappy because the manager said this. Or this player’s unhappy because he’s been given time off here and he didn’t want it and all this,” Cole told BT Sport.

“You just want lads like him [McGinn] through the door. First of all, they have to be good enough and he’s certainly good enough as a footballer, but that is so valuable for a manager in the current climate.

“You know you haven’t got to mollycoddle him, he is going to come in and do his job. He’s not an Instagram footballer, he gets on with it and does his job.”
