Twelve persons died in a motor accident involving three vehicles on Sunday while twelve others were seriously injured in Bauchi.
Saga Gist reports that the road traffic report sheet from Potiskum Unit Command of the Yobe Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), which was made available late Sunday evening disclosed that the accident occurred at about 13:17 and was reported at about 13:26 while the personnel arrived the scene at about 13:42.
The accident, which occurred at Lanzai village in Darazo Local Government Area of the state along the ever-busy Bauchi-Potiskum highway, involved a Toyota Hummer bus belonging to Borno Express and two Opel Vectra saloon cars, all commercial vehicles.
The FRSC attributed the crash to overspeeding and wrong overtaking resulting in a collision.
Three male and six female adults, three male children were injured in the crash while nine adult males, one female adult, one male child and one female child died.
The deceased were deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital, Potiskum, Yobe State, while the injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
