Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Malaysia and Brunei, Alhaji Nurudeen Muhammed has called on the world powers to act fast in preventing the battle in Ukraine and Russia from emerging a 3rd world war.
Addressing newsmen in Illorin, Muhammed who is also a stakeholder in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, expressed fear that the atomic bomb being projected by the warring countries may lead to world disaster if those in power failed to act on time.
He called for a ceasefire in Ukraine, urging NATO and others to urgently restore peace in the two warring countries.
He said, “The dropping of the atomic bomb here and there with huge consequences or do we need to pull back, sit down and think of how to resolve it.
“Because the countries that are taking positions are all nuclear power, most of the countries in NATO are nuclear power, Russia is a nuclear power, all of them must come down, may God not permit them to press the nuclear button for each other.
“They really need to agree to restore peace between the two countries quickly, otherwise, it can lead to a third world war.”
Saga Gist reports that since the Russian forces invaded some cities in Ukraine recently, there has been fear across the world that the battle in the two counties may lead to 3rd world war.
Despite several peace talks and calls for ceasefire, many people have lost their lives as the war continues, while other nations are finding ways to evacuate their citizens.
