Nigeria vs Ghana: FIFA confirms referees for 2022 World Cup playoff

FIFA has confirmed that North African referees will take charge of Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana this month.

According to the world football governing body, Moroccan referee, Jiyed Redouane will officiate the first leg in Gold Coast.

The 42-year-old, who had his first international match on June 9, 2012, has been a CAF and FIFA referee since 2009.

Interestingly, Redouane also took charge of Ghana’s Group G clash against Ethiopia in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers last year.

Tunisian referee, Sadok Selmi, will officiate the second leg in Abuja.

The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles on March 25 at the Cape Coast Stadium, before the second leg is played four days later in Abuja.
