Roberto Carlos reveals where Marcelo will play next season after leaving Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid star, Roberto Carlos, has given an insight into where defender Marcelo could be playing next season.

Marcelo bid an emotional farewell to Real Madrid and the club’s fans on Monday after fifteen years at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 34-year-old is set to become a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Real Madrid on June 30.

Marcelo joined Real Madrid from Fluminense in January 2007.

The Brazilian has developed into one of the best modern-day full-backs during his time at Los Blancos.

He made 546 appearances, scored 38 goals and provided 103 assists for Real Madrid, winning six La Liga titles, two Copa del Reys, and five Champions League titles.

But Carlos has now revealed that Marcelo is the subject of interest from Turkey and has claimed that his fellow Brazilian ‘deserves’ to continue playing in the UEFA Champions League.

“In Turkey, I have heard something from Marcelo. He is still young, he is three or four years older,” Carlos as per Marca.

“I don’t know if Turkey. Let him decide what is best for him. Marcelo for history deserves to play in a Champions League.”
