Atiku ‘ll win – Ogun PDP guber aspirant Segun Showunmi

An aide to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Showunmi, said Atiku Abubakar would win Saturday’s election.

Showunmi spoke after casting his vote at his polling unit in Ward 6, Itoko town hall, Abeokuta.

According to him, Atiku has what it takes to defeat other candidates in the presidential election, stressing that the people are tired of the ruling party.

The Ogun governorship aspirant maintained that the PDP under Atiku would transform Nigeria and put an end to the hardship being experienced at the moment.

Speaking further, Showunmi described the election as very peaceful and well coordinated, even as he said the turnout was not too encouraging.

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he had laid a legacy in the sense that, “for the first time in history, Nigerians voted despite the scarcity of cash in the system.”

Showunmi said there was an erroneous belief that elections would be impossible without physical cash.

“Today is an eye-opener that money is not a major influencer if the people have made up their minds,” he stated.

Showunmi advised the government to emulate the template in Brazil, in which all citizens are duty-bound to vote and no one is allowed to sit on the fence.

“The Peoples Democratic Party will emerge victoriously. People are genuinely tired of the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
