EPL: Chelsea owner, Boehly in emergency meeting with Graham Potter

Chelsea co-owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have held an emergency meeting with manager Graham Potter, according to The Evening Standard.

This comes amid the Premier League team’s disastrous run of form.

Potter was appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement in September.

But the former Brighton boss has been under immense pressure in recent weeks with Chelsea struggling in all competitions despite splashing over £600m on players since the summer.

The Blues have recorded just one win in their last 10 matches and lost 1-0 to 20th-placed Southampton last weekend.

That result means they are currently 10th in the table – 11 points off the top four – following early exits from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. They are still in the Champions League but lost their first-leg tie to Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.

Boehly and Eghbali – who have repeatedly backed Potter – have now called an emergency meeting on Tuesday.

The Americans were keen to understand how Potter plans to turn Chelsea’s fortunes around and it is understood that the Englishman’s job is safe for now.
