Ebonyi: Police arrest, name 7 suspects in traditional ruler’s murder


 

The Ebonyi Police Command has arrested seven suspects over the murder of Omege traditional ruler, Mr Igboke Ewa

Omege is a community under Umu-Ezekoha in Ezza North Local Government Area of the state.

The village head was assassinated on February 27, 2023 at his palace by a gang of men.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya said a formal complaint was made at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Achiagu by the son, Igboke Samuel.

The son reported how his 76-year-old father was attacked and murdered in cold blood by hoodlums.

The spokesperson noted that a petition dated March 1 was received by the police after which the complainant made useful statement.

“In the course of investigation, seven suspects out of 10 were apprehended,” Onovwakpoyeya disclosed.

The suspects are Nnabuike Emmanuel, 26, a.k.a. Champaign; Chukwudi Aliewa, 28, a.k.a. Ezza get Boys; Obinna Nwampepe, 39, a.k a. Nwampepe.

Others include Uchenna Eze, 28 years; Nwogha George, 29 years; Nnamdi Paul, and Odo Kenneth.

“The suspects made useful confessional statement to the Police and mentioned some of their collaborators who are currently at large,” the PRO added.
